Earth Week
April 22-26
Students are preparing for Earth Week! We have some great tips to share with students daily on our live morning announcements. Each grade level will be receiving a hand-made jump rope from the Green Team. These jump ropes were made from bags that students donated caps in!

Green Team members were on hand at our STEAM Fair in April to teach students how to make their very own t-shirt bag. !

About Smoky Row Green Team
Making a Difference
Our Smoky Row Green Team is made up of 4th and 5th grade students from Smoky Row Elementary located in Carmel, IN. We meet monthly. We learn about environmental issues and try to make other students aware of them.

Accomplishments
2017-2018
Recycle Rangers
In the cafeteria, we help kids recycle daily. We went on our live morning announcements to inform students of all the items that are recyclable.
Holiday Light Recycling
From the end of November to the beginning of January, we recycle holiday lights that people are throwing away. This year we had 6 barrels!
Marker Recycling
We started recycling markers this year through the Crayola program. We placed bins in each grade level and we collect them during our meetings. We've already collected over 15 lbs. this year!
Our Current Project
Students are collecting plastic lids and caps.
Students are then sorting the caps by color.
